Dieser Prototyp des Oblong-Kleides wurde aus einem großen quadratischen Seidenkarree aus der Seidentuch-Manufaktur Tuchdruck Jonas & Claußnitzer gefertigt. Das Motiv heißt Steckenpferde, es wurde per Siebdruck in Rot und Schwarz auf eine silberne Seide aufgebracht. Das Karree bildet den unteren Teil des Kleides. Im oberen Teil wurde schwarze Seide eingesetzt.
Als Kind hatte ich ein Steckenpferd, dessen Kopf eine ausgestopfte Socke war. Es hieß Rosinante und war ein vielgenutzter Gegenstand. Seitdem hege ich eine große Zuneigung zu diesem alten Kinderspielzeug. Schon ganz früh in meinen Studienanfängen stellte ich bei einem Jahressalon eine künstlerische Arbeit mit Steckenpferden aus. Steckenpferde haben für mich eine ambivalente Ausstrahlung, sie changiert zwischen niedlichem Pferdchen und Hexenbesen – diese Zweideutigkeit steckt auch in diesem eleganten Kleid.

Hobby Horses 
Silk Dress, Oblong Dress

This prototype of the Oblong dress was created from a large square silk scarf produced by the silk printing manufactory Tuchdruck Jonas & Claußnitzer.
The motif is called Hobby Horses and was screen-printed in red and black onto silver-colored silk. The square forms the lower part of the dress, while black silk is used in the upper section.
As a child, I had a hobby horse whose head was made from a stuffed sock. Its name was Rosinante, and it was a well-loved companion. Since then, I have felt a deep affection for this traditional children’s toy. Early in my art studies, I exhibited an installation featuring hobby horses at an annual salon. For me, hobby horses possess an ambivalent aura – they oscillate between the image of a sweet little horse and that of a witch’s broom. This very duality is also captured in the elegance of this dress.
